Choosing a place to meet friends on weekends has always been a disturbing topic.
This question is often followed by several discussions to determine a location that is central to all. And during this time, often many people are not even satisfied with it.
The Android application installed by 22-year-old Prashant Gurunath shows you the central location between two or more locations. No one travels longer than the other and everyone saves time and fuel.
Prashant says
“Users simply have to enter input locations and the app displays a location that is the same for all locations.”
The app also gives recommendations for Zomato restaurants, it includes rating details, the cost for two people, food and other relevant information for restaurants in a central location.
Developer Prashanth, who graduated in Information Technology from SRM University, Chennai in May 2019, said, “You can find the best place to meet.”
The app now has over 10,000 downloads on Android and has been used by businesses and individuals to locate central meeting places.
Birth of City Square
Prashant says he has always been passionate about creating innovative and flexible apps that make life easier.
Prashant says
“Only when I moved to the outskirts of Chennai. I understood that even though every city has hangout spots, plans often meet in the city center and people miss out on finding places that are convenient for both sides. “
People around the world face this problem and the founder decided to help solve it.
He invested Rs 10,000 and worked with the three-member founding team, which included Shivani S, Maitreyi S and Rohit Prakash.
Prashant says, “It was one of my most ambitious projects. It was challenging to balance study and work and troubleshoot problems while developing the application. Also, it was very challenging to take this product to market after its launch at the time of lockdown. ”
The B2B2C app City Square was born in March 2020, after spending a year building its own algorithms on top of Google Maps’ open APIs.
“There are many location sharing apps that give recommendations about places where people can visit. But no one has addressed the problem of people covering the distance of the meetup point. ”
Says Prashant, “In its current version, the app will be helpful for logistics firms to position their headquarters based on client base. A lot of money is spent on transportation to ascertain the availability of riders and drivers to deliver products across the city. Therefore, a driver in a suburb can be assigned routes based on the inventory sorted at the warehouse by address. ”
The restaurant pays for promotions on the app and is also rated by users.
Users can personalize the application and choose from five map styles. They can go hands-free and add space using a voice assistant.

Use and future
The startup was used by the COVID-19 relief team in Chennai when a group of volunteers were to meet to exchange relief material to be distributed across the city. During this time volunteers from different parts of the city continued to meet a central location through the app. The team also helped make Burgerman optimistic in Chennai.
The six-month-old company does not want to disclose its figures yet, but claims that five SMBs and five restaurants have signed up with it.
Over the next 18 months, the startup aims to onboard 25 restaurants and 50 SMBs across India. It will also release new versions of the app and plans to create an iOS version.
The business model with logistics companies and SMBs will be based on a per-user model. For restaurants, it will be based on the number of walk-in customers using the app.
The closest competition for City Square is the Bangalore-based Locus, which uses AI to help the logistics industry get off the routes and has raised a $ 29 million investment.
According to SaaS Bhoomi, there is a $ 16 billion opportunity for SaaS business in India alone. According to Gartner, SaaS is a $ 152 billion opportunity globally.
