Pakistan among the biggest importer of arms: Pakistan has reached the verge of Bengali where common people are not getting proper bread for two times. So much debt has been taken from all the countries that it has become difficult for Prime Minister Imran Khan to run the government. Despite this, his hunger for his weapons is not ending. A new report has revealed that Pakistan is also among the largest arms exporting countries in Asia.
This has been revealed in a report by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Accordingly, between 2016 and 2020, Asia and Oceania had the highest number of arms imports. Talking about Global Arms Deal, Asia and Oceania are the biggest markets. About 42 percent of the weapons are imported in this region. The countries that bought the most weapons were Pakistan (Pakistan), China (China), South Korea, Australia (Australia) and Bharat (India).

This report has also revealed that between 2016 and 2020, China’s arms exports have decreased. China, which comes at number five in the world in terms of arms exports, has suffered a setback in the last five years. Compared to 2011-15 to 2016-20, its exports have decreased by 7.80 percent. China’s arms markets are Pakistan, Bangladesh and Algeria.

India reduced import of weapons
Another thing has come out in this report that after the initiative like ‘Make in India’, India’s dependence on other countries has come down. When compared to 2011-15 to 2016-20, India’s arms imports have come down by 33 per cent. Russia has suffered the biggest blow by reducing India’s imports. However, imports with the US have also fallen by 46 per cent. The reason behind this report was that India itself is making weapons on a large scale.
Japan increased imports by 124 percent, then Korea increased by 200 percent.
Another surprising thing has come out in this report. Japan has started importing weapons heavily in the last five years. When compared to 2011-15 and 2016-20, the import of their arms has increased by 124 percent. Similarly, South Korea, which is constantly facing hostility towards North Korea, also bought 210 percent more weapons.
