Citizens do not need to change one form of Aadhaar card from another. UIDAI recently provided the facility to reprint Aadhaar card on polyvinyl chloride card (PVC).
UIDAI, the authority that issues Aadhaar cards and services related to it, has clarified that Aadhaar cards with all three formats are valid. According to UIDAI whether a normal Aadhaar card or PVC card, all will be valid. Citizens do not need to replace one form of Aadhaar card with another.

Aadhaar comes in 3 formats
Aadhaar card is currently available in 3 formats – Aadhaar letter, e-Aadhaar and PVC card. PVC cards have recently been launched. As per UIDAI, the Aadhaar card is valid in all three formats. Citizens can choose Aadhaar format as per their convenience. So, do not ignore any rumor that PVC card is more valid than the other 2 formats of Aadhaar card or E-Aadhaar is not valid.
UIDAI recently launched PVC card facility
UIDAI has recently given the facility to reprint Aadhaar card on polyvinyl chloride card (PVC). This card will easily come in your wallet just like your ATM or debit card. There will also be no worry about its early deterioration. A fee of 50 rupees will have to be paid to make this card.
How to make PVC Aadhar Card?
For this, you have to apply online on the UIDAI website. After going to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section on this website, you have to click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’. After this you will have a 12 digit number of your Aadhaar or 16 digit virtual ID or The Aadhaar Enrollment ID (EID) of 28 digit will have to be entered. After this you have to fill the security code or captcha. Click on Send OTP for OTP. After that fill in the blank given OTP on the registered mobile and submit it. After the submission, you will get a pre-view of the Aadhaar PVC card. After this you will have to click on the payment option given below.
After this you will be sent to the payment page. You will have to deposit a fee of Rs 50 here. After completing the payment, the order processing of your Aadhaar PVC card will be completed. After the complete process is completed, UIDAI will print Aadhaar and deliver the Indian post within 5 days. After this, the postal department will deliver it to your home through speed post.
125 crore people have base in the country
According to data released by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UADAI) in December 2019, Aadhaar cards have been created for 125 crore citizens living in the country. The Aadhaar project in the country was implemented in 2010.
