Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the next installment of financial benefits under Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) through video conferencing on 25 December. His office gave this information on Wednesday. It further states that by pressing a button, Modi will transfer more than 18 thousand crores to more than nine crore beneficiary farmer families. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that Modi will also interact with farmers of six states during the program.

Under the PM Kisan Scheme, small and marginal farmers are provided with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year, which will be paid in equal installments of Rs 2 thousand. The funds are directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
This program is happening at a time when many farmers unions are protesting against the three farmer laws implemented by the Modi government. The government emphasized that these reforms are in the interest of farmers.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on the program that on December 25, 9 crore families will get an amount of Rs 18 thousand crore as part of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme in their accounts. The Prime Minister will be the chief guest. He told that till yesterday evening, 2 crore farmers had registered themselves for this online program.
