ICICI Lombard General Insurance said on Thursday that more than 10 lakh cases have been settled under its virtual assessment based motor claim approval facility. This figure is still since its launch in 2018. This DIY (Do It Yourself) feature is part of the IL TakeCare app of the InstaSpect company. The customer can live stream the loss to the insurer, which does not require physical survey.

The company said that it reduces the claim approval time to a few hours. The feature has gained popularity among motor insurance customers and has touched the Claim Approval figure of over 1 million since its launch.
The company said in a statement that it started in 2018 and since then it has emerged to be extremely popular among customers all over the country. It includes many interactive features such as instant survey through live video call. It has features related to the solution through video call and real time inquiry with the help of claim managers. It has helped immensely in gaining popularity of this feature of the app.

According to the statement, this mobile self-inspection feature eliminates the need for physical examination of vehicles. The customer just has to open the ‘IL TakeCare app’ and click on the ‘InstaSpect’ option. It connects customers with claim managers. The Claim Manager guides the customer through live video streaming and assesses the damage done to the vehicle online. He then tells the customer a rough estimate of the damage and liability. The customer can then accept the claim manager’s assessment. With this, the claim is immediately extended for further approval.
After this, the claim manager instructs to bring the vehicle to the nearest garage present in the network. With this, the garage gets instructions to be ready immediately so that its repair can be started as soon as the train arrives.
