Reliance Jio is one of the leading mobile network operators of India that was launched in 2016. Within just four years of beginning its operations, Jio has a customer base of more than one- third of the total market share. It also offers its services at a more affordable price beating its rivals like Vodafone and Airtel by a good margin.
And now Jio is adding another amazing feature to its portfolio by offering the first-ever in-flight mobile connectivity services in India. For this Jio has partnered with AeroMobile that is a subsidiary of Panasonic Avionics Corporation. AeroMobile is currently providing in-flight services in the United Kingdom.

The service to be first available on International flights
This service will be first introduced on international flights only. Jio shared a list of 22 airlines that are going to have this facility. This list includes airlines like Air Serbia, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines among others. However, the telecom company confirmed that even domestic flights in India are going to get this service soon.

What packs is Jio offering in the packs?
As of now, Jio has three plans that are priced at Rs. 499, Rs. 699, and Rs. 999. With the 499 pack, users get mobile data of 250 MB, 100 minutes of outgoing voice calls, and 100 SMS. The 699 pack comes with a data of 500 MB, 100 outgoing voice minutes, and 100 messages. The ultimate data pack of 999 has 1 GB of data usage with 100 minutes of voice calls and 100 SMS. All the above packs have a validity of 24 hours.
Existing International Roaming packs also modified
Along with the three packs above, Jio has also revised two of its existing international roaming packs to give the users the benefit of in-flight mobile data. The previous pack’s worth Rs. 1,101 and Rs. 1,201 have now been revised to Rs. 1,102 and Rs. 1,202 packs that will also Wi-Fi calling support. It is worth noting that the 3 data packs will not support any incoming voice calls but allow incoming messages.

The Director of Jio, Akash Ambani said, “Jio Postpaid Plus brings with it, industry-defining and highest-quality user experience, and through our partnership with AeroMobile we will now offer in-flight roaming services at an attractive price.” He also added, “We are delighted to bring this new service to our customers, who will be able to enjoy seamless, high-quality and secure roaming at 20,000 feet, keeping every Jio Postpaid Plus user connected, always.”
Kevin Rogers, the CEO of AeroMobile also shared his contentment about the partnership and said,
“With the new in-flight roaming bundle, Jio Postpaid Plus customers no longer need to worry about connectivity whilst traveling.”
He further elaborated
“This new market-leading proposition shows continued commitment to providing the very best service to customers.”
Currently, these services are available from only selected airports in the country. Please check the list of airlines and airports that allow this feature beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.
