Corona cases are slowly increasing, which is a matter of concern. Keeping in mind the increasing cases, the DGCA had recently issued a new regulation for passengers traveling by air. Now on the reduction of air tickets, an e-copy will be issued on behalf of the airline regarding the COVID protocol. It is very important for the passengers to follow this rule, otherwise they can get into trouble.
The COVID protocol that will be sent by the airline has to be strictly followed in the arrival, departure and airplane during the journey. The DGCA says that passengers will be de-boarded if they do not wear any masks properly inside the aircraft or if the necessary guidelines regarding COVID are not followed. The new order clearly states that we must wear masks till entering and leaving the airport. Also, the mask should be above the nose. The CISF and other police personnel will be deployed to check this. If a passenger violates the protocol despite repeated warnings, the passenger will be treated as an ‘unruly passenger’.
It is necessary to apply face mask during air travel
In an earlier order, the DGCA had said that air travelers who would not wear face masks during the flight would be put on the ‘no fly list’ for onward voyages. This means that it is a kind of black list system. Passengers who do not intentionally wear face masks during the flight will not be allowed to travel through any further air lines.
Delhi High Court’s order came on 8 March
The actions by the DGCA came after the Delhi High Court’s order dated 8 March 2021. Justice C Hari Shankar was coming from Kolkata to Delhi on an Air India flight on 5 March. During this time, he found that social distancing is flying inside the airport and at the airport. Passengers do not put on masks and airlines are also slowing down over the COVID protocol. After this, the Delhi High Court ordered all the concerned officials that the COVID protocol should be followed in a better way during the journey. The airlines were told to make the passengers aware of the rules and honest efforts should be made in this direction.
