Maruti Suzuki India: The month of March was better for the country’s largest automaker company, but with April, a big problem has come on the company. A notice has been sent to Maruti Suzuki India on behalf of the DRI (Directorate of revenue intelligence).

According to sources, a 105-page notice was sent to MSIL on Wednesday after an investigation by DRI Lucknow for Rs 71 crore. In the same case, another notice is being considered, in which the alleged fee theft of Rs 70 crore is estimated.
According to the Times of India, MSIL Spokesperson’, said, “This matter is under dispute.” We do not have any comments at this stage. MSIL will follow all the legal remedies available for this. ”
Know what is the matter
The case came to light in 2019, when DRI Lucknow started an investigation after being cautious that Maruti Suzuki was using the Motor Generator Unit (MGU) or Alternative for Its ‘Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki’ (SHVS) technology engine. The agencies have alleged that it is not complete hybrid technology.
In 2017, the government provided incentives for customs used in the manufacture of hybrid technology cars through customs duty exemption. According to tax officials, this technology uses a combination of battery operated electric motor and ICE (Internal combustion engine) to drive the vehicle, it does not include ‘start and stop’ technology to micro hybrid motor vehicle which is only in static stage. Batteries use operated electric motors.
Maruti accused of lying
Maruti is accused of importing a simple car alternator or MGU and tweaking it as accessories for hybrid motor vehicles for custom clearance, with the use of software. Later, the company reportedly called it a model similar to SHVS or Smart Hybrid to fool its customers. The DRI source stated that the SHVS basically has three functions including auto start stop, regenerative braking and torque assist, but a complete hybrid car uses electric motor and gasoline combustion which helps in fuel savings.
